How to attach dome to platform?

To attach a dome to a platform, proper anchoring is essential to ensure stability and safety.

Each LoftyDomes kit includes anchorage pins and instructions on how to correctly attach the dome to the ground.

The anchorage pins provided are made of 60cm long steel stakes that need to be hammered into the ground. There are two pins for each structure foot, totaling 40 or 50 pins depending on the dome’s size. Anchoring is necessary in areas exposed to winds, but it is not required if the dome will be set up inside a building, such as a trade show booth.

If you plan to set up the dome on a concrete or solid surface, ensure that you can hammer the pins into that surface. Before proceeding with anchoring, it’s crucial to check for any underground utilities like water pipes or electric cables.

For uneven or irregular ground surfaces, there are two solutions to consider:
– Level or even out the ground before starting the dome build, which is recommended for sites with significant differences in ground height or for long-term setups.
– Use flat wooden or plywood pieces under each structure foot that needs to be leveled. This solution is suitable when there are no major differences in ground levels, and the boards can be easily placed underneath the dome’s foot after assembly to adjust levels.
